An old stable became an independent brewery.
In 2008, Alois Planner and his neighbour and friend Klaus Feistritzer founded Biermanufaktur LONCIUM in Mauthen, in Carinthia’s Gail Valley. Their goal: to brew the best beer.
From a home-built first brewhouse in the former farm building, a continually expanded brewery has grown, with a 20-hl brewhouse and its own keg, bottle and can filling. LONCIUM is certified organic, a Slow Food member and a member of Privatbrauereien Österreichs. The range includes LONCIUM beers, Loncelli organic soft drinks and the regional Gailtaler range. Brewery, Brew Pub and Bierhotel combine craft with a stay right where it all begins.
